Have you ever received a wedding invitation in the mail and thought, “Wow, this is a really nice invitation!” If you have, did you keep that invitation or throw it away because you didn’t know what else to do with it after the wedding was over? Why not turn it into a keepsake for the bride and groom? Maybe an ornament to help them celebrate their first Christmas together. Or a pendant that the bride can wear for years to come or even pass down to their children one day. I would love to have something like that from my parents or grandparents.
Not too long ago, I was asked to make 5 unique ornaments out of a wedding invitation as a gift for a bride and groom. The invitation was really neat, in that, its “envelope” was actually part of the invitation. Since we were a bit short on time, all sides of the invitation were scanned and emailed to me. I cropped the files to create several different designs and came up with 3 large square ornaments and 2 smaller square ornaments. Here’s how they turned out:
I love that the new couple will have an ornament set with extra special meaning to hang on their tree this holiday season. For those of you who are married, what is your most memorable wedding gift? Did you receive anything that you plan to pass down to your children one day?
Great post!
One special wedding gift that we received was a double frame with our invitation already in it, with the other side empty waiting for a picture of us. That thoughtfulness really was appreciated and now I try to give thoughtful gifts just like that!
