As I was looking for inexpensive ways to decorate our wedding/reception venue I stumbled upon several DIY projects on Pinterest using glass jars. I love jars. There are so many uses for them. They could be used as centerpieces like this:
Or this:
Or festive drinking glasses like this:
I especially like the look of these, so I decided to try making something similar to spice up the wedding aisle for the ceremony and then have someone (aka my roommate) move them to the balcony to add a little color out there during the reception.
I’ve only made three so far, but with another 20 or so, I think they’ll do the job. Here’s how they turned out.
I’ll share the really easy DIY tutorial on here next week. I intend to put white flameless candles in them (in the photo, they’re orange from my Halloween candles). I know it would make for a really memorable wedding if the fire trucks showed up, but I’m going to play it safe. Or maybe I’ll plan on them coming a little later in the evening….if I launch wish lanterns into the sky. JK – not about the wish lanterns, but about the fire trucks!
Seeing as I’m in full-on DIY mode, what’s the latest project you created? Did you use an online tutorial or did you dream it up yourself? Do you use glass jars for anything unusual?
Happy Doing!
